We are pleased to announce a new update for the Cristie Virtual Appliance. The 3.5 release includes lots of new functionality and bug fixes which bring with it a wealth of benefits.
Headline Enhancements
- Clustering/HA – You can now deploy multiple appliances and configure them in a HA cluster, providing you with resiliency for your replications, simulations and DR Orchestrations.
- Failover/Failback DNS Changes – The VA can now automatically add DNS entries during failover/failback operations.
- Force full clone – You can now restart a replication job to force a full clone. Useful to capture hardware/disk changes that would not be picked up by a sync.
- TBMR Linux encrypted recoveries – You can now restore encrypted TBMR Linux recoveries.
- You can now enable/disable the post recovery test tool run on source systems.
- Refined Windows software deployment to support all locales.
- You can now obtain source log files with one click from the appliance GUI.
- Software deployment logs are now split into system specific log files.
- Enhanced checks when disabling features to stop you disabling a feature that is currently in use.
- Enhanced multipath support for Linux Replications.
- Support Tools – You can now run ping & port tests from a target environment.
- Further security enhancements for the core appliance & software deployment.
- Easy offline updates – From 3.5 you can simply upload the update.tar and update via the appliance interface.
Bug Fixes
- Incremental backup of a Linux Sles15 BTRFS system does not exclude the BTRFS snapshots.
- Replication/Recovery boot scripts would sometimes not run.
- Some Windows sync operations would fail with “Unable to connect to target bmr_management”.
- Replication occasionally failing with incorrect error ‘Replication failed, target was rebooted’
- Uninstalling BMR products would sometimes report success but leave the software installed.
- Windows NBMR recoveries with version 9.1 would sometimes fail with “missing backup location information”
- Improved error message for CBMR backup operations.
- Solaris backup reports progress greater than 100%.
- VA discovery would sometimes fail on system with multiple NICs.
- VA Import Hotfix ISO would not work under certain conditions.
- CoBMR Windows file based backup – fails to recover DR config.
- Web Boot ISO failing with operation not permitted.
- VA Report attachments not sending as pdf/xls.
- AD integration – 1000 users limit.
- Hotfix ISOs would not have the VA address included, causing discovery to fail.
- Improved post recovery check reporting interface.
